I am obviously, one of those that stumbled across your work this day/night and am lost in teh wonder of it all! SO good, so very VERY good Arthur! -- as to this image, if I were to extrapolate & make it into a colony moon for use in around the gaming table ..... Kalerin VIII is what the surveyors named her. No sentient life exists here today, but curiously small pagoda structures, most half buried in the restless sands and rock debris, indicate that once... who know how long ago now, other sophonts did live here.

The small mining and survey outpost in the Abilene Canyon system is flanked by a pair of those alien pagodas. If you get to the surface, trek out to the salt plan and between the shallow seas. There are sporadic fluting giraffe ferns along the way, and as you go, you'll come across 5 white stones in a neat pile. Stop there. Turn off the rover engines and just listen, the stones are at the exact right place to hear those fluting giraffe ferns collectively create what we'd consider music. Quite haunting but beautiful, and truly unforgettable.

After you've had your fill of this music, you can easily bag some of the six winged reptilian creatures and have them for your supper. They hunt small crustaceans at the edges of the shallow lakes each sunrise and sunset for about 1 hour (Terran standard). rumors say they taste amazingly ham like.

Enjoy your stay on Kalerin VIII... oh and watch the sky after nightfall, there are frequent tiny but brilliantly visible meteor showers caused by debris cast off from the shattered planet we're in orbit around.

as for technical critiques : Improvement could come from the planet getting some further smaller cracks, as opposed to just looking bisected, and the orbital debris rings could serve from some randomization and variety in their shapes. Still in the final analysis -- brilliantly done!
