Maybe you like valleys because we are intrigued by fantasy worlds.

Perfect! May i ask how you got the 'thin flows' on the rocks in vue? Thanks!

Those rock formations were made in Geocontrol2, using isolines and some custom erosion settings. Those flows were the result of that erosion. From Geocontrol2, I exported a 16 bit tiff file with the heightmap (to drive the terrain height in Vue) and a bitmap with the erosion distribution. That bitmap was then used to drive the material mix in Vue (rock and a grass-like material). If you need any further explanation, I'd be happy to provide it. :)

Thanks for the explanation! Is it possible to take height data out of Vue in
a tiff or jpeg format so you can work on in another terrain software? Thanks again

It's normally possible but depends on the situations (in some cases, it's not). I don't have time to go into a deep explanation now (am not at home) but will do so when I have the time. :)
