The Alignment Prophecy by ArthurBlue The Alignment Prophecy by ArthurBlue
Another take on the alignment of celestial bodies.
As most of the times, I was searching for a balance between real and unreal.

Here's the previous image on this theme: arthurblue.deviantart.com/art/…

As always, rendered in Vue.

I quite like this one. Very “cosmic”.

Thanks! The sea is a standard sea object from Vue, customized by me.

the glow around the planets is a nice touch. The epic scale begs a wider screen though.

Nice, I once had a dream that was exactly like this, actually.

Given the size of those moons and/or planets, that looks tidally cataclysmic. Otherwise very pretty.

i think this one might have been more powerful if you'd left the moons out...i saw the largest picture of the night sky we've taken so far and it looked a lot like this, and it would have looked gorgeous with the beach scene you added under it. but this version is still extremely beautiful! and i suppose it is called alignment. i swear i am like ten seconds away from buying like a dozen of your prints and covering a wall with them, theyre so lovely.

Thanks! Actually, it's not a manip, it's a 3D render, with only a small amount of post-work. :)

I almost didn't notice how the rocks on the beach line up with the contents of the sky :D

The light used to make the woman's shadow is well used too. An ordinary full moon on Earth can be bright enough to cast noticeable shadows (away from the distraction of urban lights anyway) Three of them at this distance should light up the night :D

Thanks! Glad you noticed those things. Sometimes I work on details that people never notice... but I know they're there. :)

An alignment between Europa, Ganymede and... is that Io?

In fact, it's none of them. I just used bits of their texture maps but I mixed it with some procedural maps. If you compare my moons with those you mentioned you'll see that they're not the same.
