With the exception of the sky, this could very well be somewhere in the Southwest. About that sky with the primary still above the horizon - stars would not be visible due to glare and the limitations of the eye. It's the same thing that confused the Apollo mission deniers. They could not see stars in the photographs from the moon because reflected sunlight made them invisible. Love your work though.

Yes, you're probably right about the stars. But realism ranks only 3rd in my level of priorities, when it comes to creating images. My first two priorities are imagination and beauty so sometimes I have to sacrifice a bit of realism... :)

The lighting is impressive! Naturally since the moon has no atmosphere then the sky will not appear blue so you made that look very realistic.

But, is that big star the parent star? Because if it is then the lightning is wrong... I am surely wrong, just thought you might want to know.

That in front is not a star, that's a very dense star cluster. Or at least that was my intention. :-)
The "sun" is on the right side of the image, as you can see from the shadows. This scene was built in Vue, which is a 3D software so the sun is an object that I place where I want. It's very similar to Bryce, that you use. It's the software that defines the shadows, based upon the place where I placed the sun. So, the shadows can't be wrong because they're calculated by the software. :-)
